MindGear Labs is a rapid prototyping lab located in Huntsville, AL. We’re committed to the goal of being an epicenter of innovation, creativity and camaraderie to anyone with an idea or just a love for creating. Our labs are equipped with laser cutters, 3d printers, Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines, electronics workbenches and more. We use our expertise and equipment to pursue three main profit centers: • Our tools and expertise are available to the general public to use to make their own creations. • We construct prototypes to specification for those needing assistance creating an invention, needing a custom piece of equipment or furniture, or wanting something special for a hobby or interest. • We teach STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and STEAM related classes to children, using our equipment to build games, models and other teaching aids. We provide these services as summer camps, after school programs, teaching kits, school curricula, and more! Our members have created a community inside MindGear mutually supporting one another, sharing techniques and reveling in each other’s accomplishments. They build amazing scientific devices, creative inventions, and painstaking recreations of famous sci-fi and fantasy props. They build their skills with classes in advanced manufacturing, graphic design, video game development, and other science and tech pursuits. Our MindGear Team has several Engineers on staff, and others in our community ready to help take an idea from napkin sketch to physical prototype. We have constructed prototypes and are capable of making short production runs for local businesses.
