Materials

We work with wood, a variety of plastics, and many different types of metals depending on the job to be done. We have suppliers for all sorts of materials in the local area, so we can get started on your project in a timely manner.

We have over 55 spools of 3d printing material to meet your color and material needs, including ABS, PLA, and specialty materials such as Carbon Fiber, Polycarbonate, Nylon, PETG, and Glow-in-the-dark.

In-stock materials for 3d printing: Many colors of ABS, many colors of PLA, clear PETG, white Nylon, white Polycarbonate, Carbon Fiber PLA.

In-stock materials for Laser Cutting: Sande Plywood, acrylic, and cardboard sheets.

In-stock materials for CNC Routing: -Anything in-stock at Home Depot, Lowes, or Woodcraft

In-stock materials for CNC or Manual Machining: -Most standard steel and aluminum alloys, or anything available at Alro Metals.

Our Materials

  • ABS

    Laser cuttable in thin to medium sheets, with some discoloration and possible warping. Cuts well on CNC with high feedrate to minimize heat. 3d printable via FDM printers, results in durable parts.

  • Acetal

    Laser cuttable in thin to medium sheets and CNC machinable.

  • Acrylic / Perspex

    Cuts GREAT on the laser cutter and engraves beautifully. Up to 3/8" can be cut, and any thickness engraved.

  • Aluminium

    Aluminum can be CNC or manually machined quite easily. Anodized aluminum can be engraved using the laser cutter, but not marked plain without special additives.

  • Brass

    We can machine brass using CNC or manual processes.

  • Cardboard

    Cardboard cuts great on the laser cutter and is an excellent medium for quick, low-cost models and prototypes.

  • Corrugated Plastic / Coroplast / Correx / Twinwall Plastic

    Coroplast cuts well on the laser cutter.

  • Glass

    Glass can be engraved on the laser cutter.

  • HIPS High Impact Polystyrene

    HIPS is available as a 3d printing filament as an alternative to ABS with similar mechanical properties.

  • Leather

    Leather can be cut and engraved on our laser cutter, but only if it is REAL leather (Not "pleather" or other synthetics) and also only if it is vegetable tanned, not oil tanned.

  • Mild Steel

    Mild steel can be CNC or manually machined quite easily. The HAAS and our lathe will make short work of it.

  • Mirror glass

    Mirrors can be engraved, selectively etching off the mirror coating to leave a unique finish and a custom mirror.

  • Paper

    Paper can be cut using the laser cutter

  • Polycarbonate

    Polycarbonate can be laser cut in thin sheets and can be CNC cut in thicker sheets.

  • PVC

    PVC can be cut on the CNC router and with our 24" Vinyl cutter, but absolutely cannot be laser cut; it releases chlorine gas when burned.

  • Rubber

    Rubber can be cut an engraved on the laser cutter, provided it does not contain PVC. We will not cut or engrave it unless we are absolutely sure of which type it is.

  • Wood (general)

    We have access to a variety of woods for CNC and laser cutting projects. We can work with virtually any type, but feel free to inquire if you aren't sure if we can cut/engrave a specific variety.
